I’ve got a bunch of scars also. Legs, back, arm, neck, groin… I also developed Vitiligo which gets looks too. I think of them as battle scars and don’t give them a second thought anymore. Warriors get scars, it’s what we do 🙂

              Hi Robin.

I don’t know of any connection. But, I was on immunosuppressive meds for years for multiple AI issues. I’m 3b and NED. Immunosuppressive meds are no longer an option for me to help with other AIs so it’s symptom management at this point. Good luck. Colleen mo

In my case, the melanoma was found first because it was amelanotic nodular melanoma.  my severely atypical's were found after, when I started visits with the dermatologist.  We biopsied around 4 spots I think.  Three were atypical.  I had had these before my diagnsis.  I  also have on average, 2-3 new ones per year.  My dermatologist is aggressive and leaves nothing to chance.  About 85% of mine have been atypical.  I think once one is found, there is reason to believe there is and/or may be more of them.

The member has not had the WLE/SNB yet.  At this point in the diagnosis I believe that googling about Melanoma can encourage the mind to assume the worst.  This does not mean that upon having a firm diagnosis you should not be as well informed as possible.
