        Carole,
Big congrats to you on your long term survivorship and positive attitude. I, too am a stage 4 no- evidence- of- disease (NED)melanoma survivor of 14 years. I rarely go on his forum anymore, but I hope those of us who have had full and durable results to treatments can give others hope!I used the chemotherapy pill Temodar( usually only used for brain metastasis)as a treatment for a metastasis in the mediastinum that could not be surgically removed. My Best wishes going out to all.

I rarely go on this forum anymore, as I’ve been stage 4 NED for fourteen years. Big congrats to you on your NED-iversary! Know there are many long term stage 4 survivors out there!

Nicole, 2007-2008, I was treating an inoperable hilar lymph node met. My, then 15 year old daughter was in the same situation . At least, my concern for her took me out of my head about my prognosis. Eleven years later, she is a young adult who has been with the same therapist for 10 years, has her ADHD, depression and anxiety treated and is functioning well…and I’m still here…at the time, I never would have guessed that outcome. Hold on to hope.

Hi Bill, I did Temodar for a mediastinum met 2007-2008 and have been “no evidence of disease”, (NED) for eleven years. I am now having a supraclivicular node checked out, but even if it’s a recurrence, I can’t believe Temodar bought me 11 years. Best of luck to you in your treatments and have a nice weekend.

Hi MIke, I am a long term stage IV survivor…just wanted to offer hope. There are so many good immunotherapy treatments out there now since my stage IV progression in 2007. I did a chemo pill called Temodar. My tumor was in my mediastinum and could not be resected. Wishing you the very best of luck.

Thanks for your well wishes and sharing your dad’s story, Jules. It seems crazy how it can come back after so many years NED.

Swanee, Thanks so much for your reply and for remembering me…I am on here rarely anymore! Congrats on your six years of still being here. Flax oil is a powerful tool, it seems. I have also been on a vegan diet for 8 years now, which seems to be helping, too…best of luck and continued health to you.

I appreciate this information. Hopefully, it is not csf, but I was not aware a lingering infection could cause this issue. Thanks so much.
