      I only did interferron and I am 7 years NED.  I did not take it for a year, I took the one month high dose and about a month of the low dose.  My doctors said that one month of high dose usually works and for me it has.

      I too had Melanoma land in a lymph node and have an unknown primary.  The doctors have never found it on my skin or anywhere else.  I did take interferron to prevent spread of it going anywhere else microscopic and so far it has worked.  7 years, I agree he probably needs some other form besides the surgery itself to prevent it from spreading.

      I am Stage IIIB and mine has never came back since it was found.  Good luck to you…7 years NED.

      I had the same diagnosis as you.  The worrying will never stop and the scans will always be scary just keep fighting.  I am celebrating 7 years NED.  The doctors never found my primary just landed in a node in my left thigh area.  See my profile, there is hope!  I am a Stage 3B as well.

      I am sorry to hear this for you and your family after 27 years!  I had a friend I met with Melanoma that decided not to go back to work when I did and she filed for SSI fast track program and was approved right away.  I believer a Stage 3 or higher has that ability to be approved quickly but I am not positive.

      Congrats Camila…thats great news….clear and negative are good to hear when dealing with Melanoma…do you have Interferon in Brazil…if so I would suggest researching it for her…good luck and prayers to you and your Mom
