Insurance changes are always nerve racking! We have gone through a job change and had to change over to Cobra. If you are having to go to multiple appt it is stressful making sure that things get changed over as quickly as possible. I hope the transition is smooth for you. Glad you are recovering and getting srtonger.

I would take ibuprofen for sure. If fever and cough are not better soon I would call the nurse. I take ibuprofen as needed and I am on Opdivo.

I was diagnosis 2016 as stage 3A adjuvant treatment was not approved at the time and I did watch and wait. Fast forward a year and half and I got a nodule that ended up being melanoma. I started Nivo in May on this year and my last scans were clear. Stage 3 is a hard place to be because you never know for sure if it will come back.I have had 12 nivo treatment with minimal amount of side effects. Biggest side effect has been thyroid. I have two young children and work a full time job. Other than treatment days I have only missed one day of work. It is possible to live life while on treatment. Yes you may need an extra nap every once an awhile but its totally worth it. You must do what you think is best for you but know that many live full lives while in treament. Best of luck

Glad to hear they got you back on Nivo and you are not going to have to wait until after surgery! Sounds like you have a great plan in place.

Sometimes you just got to do what you feel is right for you. I had a little lung nodule show up while I was still Stage 3A. It was in a spot where  they couldn't get to it with a needle biopsy. My doc wanted to keep watching it a little longer (already watched it grow on 2 scans) but I was ready to get it out. He agreed to move forward and get that sucker out. Thank goodness because it turned out to be Melanoma which I already knew deep down. Thanks to Celeste who encouraged me to pluck that met when I was second guessing my desicion. Now moved on to Opdiva and 6 months later NED!! Wishing you the best of luck. Go get her done!!!

Crossed fingers for cool weather for your trip! One more set of eyes can't hurt. Getting mentally ready for battle is the best way to face this monster. Hopefully they can get things moving pretty fast for you because waiting is the worest.

Most likely it will turn out to be nothing but if something worries you my thoughts are have it checked out.

That is awesome!! This is very encouraging. The pain has gradually been getting worse so I was not surprised with the scan results. I am feeling very optimidtic about the treatment. Thanks for the positive responce!!

Thank you Celeste. Your responce does pull together some of the things that the doctor was talking about. I am feeling confident that ipi/nivo will top off a great treament plan and hopefully kick this beast to the curb!!

Thanks for the reply Ed! The reports seem very short/shorter than normal. This is the whole statement about the bone mass.

Continued increase in size of metastasis with extraosseous necrotic tumor now 4.6 cm x 4.4cm previously 2.9cm x 1.6cm.

Thanks for your response. Those are great scan results. I know it might be a long road ahead but I am praying for those same great results one day!!
