I know it sounds trivial but I had to deal with some of these issues (diarrhea, vomiting…) during the Taf Mek Therapy. Ginger (eaten raw or as pure ginger juice) helped me a lot with these issues. I drank 50 ml of the juice mixed up with water or water and lemon juice in the morning and evening. I think it’s worth a try because it is very good for the immune system too. You can start with 10ml of the juice or chew the pure ginger if you can.

Hey there, I cannot give you an advise but I can tell you my story short. Iwas diagnosed IIIA in 2017. 2018 I got pregnant and stopped interferon. My daughter was born in December 2018, totally healthy. In February the first scans after pregnancy showed a solitary lung tumor. It was melanoma. It was surgically removed and since then no recurrence but I have to live in fear with a Stage 4 diagnosis. I will not have another baby but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love my daughter more than anything and if I could turn back time, I would do it the same way. It’s a very tough decision and it is just my experience. But I thought you should consider this.

                  Hugs from Germany. 🙂

First, let me give you a big virtual hug. You have been through a lot. I (partly) share your story. Last year, 2 months after giving birth to my wonderful Ida, I was diagnosed Stage 4 Melanoma with a lung metastasis, which has been surgically removed. 2017 I was diagnosed Stage IIIA with mets in Lymph Nodes. I am on targeted therapy for 1 year since then. Thank god, I stay NED over the last year and hope it will last for a long long time (for both of us). Yes, we will never get pregnant again but I feel very very lucky, raising my beautiful little girl (15 months now) and like you, take every day with her as a big present. Let’s hope we can be there for them till we are old and grey.

Wishing you only the best from all my heart.

Sorry for my English. I’m from Germany and not writing in other languages very often. 😉

Kristi, you have do get that lump biopsied. First, congratulations to your pregnancy. I became pregnant early 2018, half a year after my melanoma diagnosis and during active treatment. It wasn’t planned but we have been incredibly happy about it and now we have a beautiful daughter. Unfortunately, right after giving birth, it turned out, that melanoma had spread into my lungs. Did surgery and currently NED on Tafinlar/Mekinist. Melanoma can spread during pregnancy, BUT a lot of Doctors told me, there are most pregnancies of melanoma patients without any problems or recurrence. I don’t want to scare you but you should really really be pushing your onc to have that suspicious lump biopsied. From all my heart, I wish you a negative result and a wonderful pregnancy without further worries about that f…ing cancer.

                              Hello Summer,

I’m on this combo since April. From time to time I have some fevers one day in a month), a little bit of daily fatigue but not too much. All in all iam tolerating the side effects very well.

                              I hope this helps.

Best wishes for you and may the treatment work for your mum. 🙂

I know this post is not very up to date but I also want to let you know, that my stage 3a melanoma from 2017 spread to my lungs (diagnosed shortly after giving birth) during pregnancy.
