It looks like Mark, below, and other newly diagnoses stage 3 people could use some encouragement.

Let's let them know we're still here and doing well.  If I hadn't seen a lot of this when I went to 3C in 2001 I don't know what I would have done.

So, I'll go first, DebbieH, stage IIIC, NED 10 years last Sunday, 9/11/2011.

I was diagnosed in June 2007 and was confirmed stage IIIA (micromet in one node) in Sept.   We took the watch, wait and see approach.  I just had my 4 year checkup and tests (chest xray and bloodwork) and I'm celebrating my 4th year of NED!

Laurie, thank you for your post. I was wondering if you could elaborate as to what you meant by failed interferon as I was reviewing your profile and it doesn’t appear that you have had a recurrence, thank goodness…were you implying that you had to stop due to your levels?Getting ready to start and just wanted to know a bit more of you experience. Thank you…

Donna, thank you for posting…this was terrific. If you have the chance, can you send me your email address, thank you.

I'm Patricia, and I was dx. September, 2009, stage III A. I had a SNB with micro mets to one node followed by a LMD on left axcillary site. I elected to take one month high dose Interferon. All of this might sound agressive for IIIA, but I lost my younger brother to MM when he was 30, so I knew what I could be up against. Fortunately, no progression since, and glad to be her for roll call. This site saved my mind!

I want to thank all of you for posting these positive stories.  I hate to be the downer but at times this disease takes over my mind.  I am trying my best to move on with my life and live in the now.  I love being a father and I am grateful for all of the time I have spent with my daughter.  She was born in the middle of my melanoma treatment and I know she was sent as a reminder of how precious life really is.

I'd like to personally thank Debbie for rallying the troops.  It means a lot.  I am sending positive vibes to everyone on this forum!
