Two years ago yesterday I had my biopsy at Mayo Clinic and they told me I had stage 4 melanoma. They also said I would be dead in 6-9 months. Happy to report I am still here and still NED. Had my latest scans on June 8 and my booster of MDX 1106!

Fantastic!  Throw down the gauntlet and come out the winner.  That's what I'm talkin' about!

Wishing you many more years of NEDness.

                        Lynn,

I'm so happy for you and hope you continue to defy the odds and remain NED (it's possible!).

When I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Stage 4, I actually thanked my Dr that he didn't mention the 6-9 month timeframe. He said those were old stats and that new treatments were keeping people alive much longer – this will be the trend going forward in the years to come.   Infact, they suspect the typical lifespan of advanced melanoma patients will double within the next 5 years.

                        There is always hope!

I think I have read that the survival statistics are at least 10 years old.

Even though there hasn't been much advancement in melanoma care in the last 10 years, I think we are NOW seeing exciting breakthroughs.

I have to believe that many of US are ging to change those statistics. By living.
