I got erythema nodusums (small, painful lumps) in the arch of my foot. They resolved after a day or two, but would pop up elsewhere.

VERY painful joint pain in wrist and knee. Took several days for that to resolve.

Low dose steroid = no issues

A first in-human trial combining vemurafenib and ipillimumab in metastatic melanoma patients is scheduled to begin by 2012

HA! I'm doing it right now! Had Yervoy, now on Zelboraf. Who needs to wait until 2012?!

                    Jared,

                    Semper Fi!

Prayers for your safety in Afghanistan, and when you return.

Thank you for your service, I personally know how hard it is to be away during the holidays (or any day) from your kids and family.

                          Hello,

My lungs were filled with "innumerable" nodes and 80% with fluid when I started BRAF/Zelboraf. Within 2 days, I was breathing much better, my neck (egg sized lump protrusion) was visibly diminshing, and so on.

I'm on my third month now. EXTREME sun sensitivity, painful lumps (ereythema nodusums) which flare and resolve in 2-3 days (mainly on my legs/feet, some on my arms). Now developing very painful, but "floating" arthritis.

Definitely hair thinning. No brows, few lashes. BUT I don't have to shave. 🙂 Ladies at the makeup counters are my new best friends.

Fatigue, comes and goes. That's what husband and kids are for, to help out! Have to learn to listen and rest, before I get wiped out (I work full time).

Latest scans on 10/24 = NO lung nodes, tiny pocket of fluid, neck down by 75%.

I just had to have my lung drained yesterday, I was filled back up to 50%.I knew I was getting bad, I was gasping for breath after exertion (laundry, housework, etc). Find out results tomorrow: side effect but BRAF still working, or starting not to respond?! It can be a seesaw, to say the least.

Prayers to your dad, and your family!

Is this a melanoma oncologist? I would get a second opinion, asap.

Always listen to your body, and inner voice. Every time I've gone in and they've said "looks fine, but if it concerns you, we'll remove it", I was right and they were wrong.

It is worth it to travel to an excellent hospital for a second opinion. I know it's hard with very small children, but your whole goal is to be with them through the tweens, teens and beyond!

So, do what you have to do, and make the decision that is best for YOU.

Prayers to you and your family.
