Thank you both for your input. Yes, I spoke with my oncologist, and another melanoma specialist. They both said it’s probably safe to take it . However, there are no sufficient studies to confirm it. I resisted taking any medication for years but now it’s at the point where it interferes with my quality of life. It’s on my palms and soles of my feet. It makes it hard to walk or touch anything. So many things in this melanoma world are just a guess. For someone who is very black and white like me it’s a torture. -

Hi. I was diagnosed stage 3a last June. No treatment was recommended but my oncologist ordered an ultrasound of my SLN biopsy site, which I had at the end of August. Came back as one suspicious lymph node 0.8 mm. My surgeon insisted that the ultrasound was done to soon after the surgery which was end of June, and that the lymph node was just a reactive one. Had a fine needle aspiration and came back just as my surgeon thought. A reactive lymph node. This is my experience . Hope this helps. -

Oh Cindy am so sorry to hear that. I need to have a FNA this week. You posted your comment on my question regarding suspicious lymph node and gave me a big hope. I’m very upset on your behalf. I had a very similar situation in July. I was told that my SLN biopsy (6 nodes) were all negative only to be called a week later and told that one lymph node tested positive for melanoma . I think these kind of mistakes are unforgivable. Hope everything is ok with you and the nodes come back negative. Hoping and praying
