My condolences to the family. We have lost one of the greates advocates and friends known. With the recent turn of events, I am however glad that he is finally free of the beast and is able to rest. May he now rest in peace. It was a long hard battle, and I am glad the gleevec managed to give him 8 extra years that he would not have had otherwise.

Endless thanks to him for helping countless people over the years in dealing with their melanoma diagnosis, including myself when I was first diagnosed.

Jerry, it was great to meet you at the park that one summer for a picnic several years ago. See you again someday. I'll bring the mangoes next time!

How admirable that she is donating her body to melanoma research. I hope that everything goes smoothly so this can be accomplished.

I remember your mother and many of her posts here over the last few years. As many others have done in the past, she came here to ask questions and offer assistance to others who may have needed it during their own difficult times in dealing with this monster. Please take comfort in knowing your mother did all she could for both herself and others here. It is indeed most admirable of anyone that would try to assist others while having to deal with their own serious personal battle. This speaks volumes of the type of person Denise is.

As others have said, please keep in contact with the pain management team and hosipce to try to keep her as comfortable as possible during the remainder of this journey.
