Dx Stage 4 in Oct 1991, complete response to IL-2 at NIH in 1992, so coming up on 29 years NED.

      Hi, Cindy,

Not sure how much it relates, but back in 1992 when I received IL-2 for my melanoma, I ended up hypothyroid and went on Synthroid for 1-2 years as I recall.  My thyroid gradually recovered, and I’ve been euthyroid ever since.

      Best wishes, Rick

I second John's comments.  I'm coming up on 26 years NED after IL-2 complete response in 1992 at NIH.  I was 36 years old at that time; now I'm 62.  Complete responses are often durable!  I still read this site frequently and wish all of you the best.

Coming up on 25 years following a complete response to IL-2 at NIH in 1992.

I'll also chime in.  It was 25 years ago, in January 1992 that I had just been accepted at NIH.  I went through 3 rounds of IL-2 and became NED.  I was 35 then, and I just turned 61 yesterday.  I'm grateful for my good fortune.  My best to all of you.

I've had 2 Mohs surgeries on my face, and the scars are barely noticeable.  Had my nose biopsied this morning; hope it's benign.
