im RICK, Carol;s husband and caregiver. i;ve stayed with her all the time at the hospital and take off work to be with her at home unless her daughter or sister comes to stay. Carol;s doin better today. their gonna send us back up to the cancer unit as soon as they get a bed ready.. she got a total of 14 bags of il2 this round. she wanted atleast 15 or 16 but its time to stop now atleast for this round. i wish they would give her 2 weeks inbetween treatments instead of only 1. just doesnt give her body enough time to get the strength she needs.

carol;s doin better this morning, her BP is stabilized and heart rate is normal. their gonna send us back up to the cancer unit as soon as a room comes open. we think they treat her better up there any way lol. we dont believe they;ll continue treatments, she did get 14 bags total this time, got half of what they want.

her dr is thinking of uplumibob instead of the IL2, might have spelled it wrong but u get the idea. its a shame because these treatments have made 6 or 7 of the tummers didapear and is making the big one shrink alot. hopefully it;ll keep working and they can operate and take the big one under her arm out.

my wife Carol B has been moved to critical care ICU, her BL dropped to 42/20 and they couldnt raise it any higher while in the cancer center, her heart rate went up to 170 also, the nurse called the emergancy response team and the were there in just minutes with a crash cart and 12-14 dr and nurses. something was wrong with the crash cart or they couldnt figure out how to hook it up so the sent for a different one. this scarred the hell out of me again. I know im going to heaven when i die now because they scarred the hell out of me twice since we have been here lol

 Carol;s BP is now up to 108/40 they had it up to 138/62 but they are trying to lower the dose now and ween her off it. thanks for all the prayers

my wife, ( Carol B ) has stage 4 melinoma and has been doing interleukin2 treatments since december. it seems like every time she starts a treatment she starts her period. even when shes not supposed to. im her husband and i try my best to take care of her and i never had to change her pads before. it was really quite strange but if a husband will do that for his wife he;ll do anything for her. i learned its better to have a woman their with ya if your wife is going threw treatments lol.

 i pray every day for all the people in this world with all kinds of cancer. i,ve heard so many stories from family members in waiting rooms and out at the smoking area. now i realize why it takes so long some times for GOD to answer our prayers. just at vanderbuilt hospital i know there is thousands of people here that are asking GOD for a miracle let alone all the millions of other places around the world. he;s gotta be stressed out too lol

 but if ya loose faith in GOD ya might as well just give up. so please dont ever loose faith.

 she was trying to smoke her oxygen sencor thinking it was a ciggerett and tryed to suck on her IV lines thinking it was a straw. she thought the dr was madisgasgar lol, and thought the nurse was her sister-in-law., the first round i had help from my sister-in-law but this time im here by myself. i would advise anyone to have 2 people there with ya to help ya out.

im not trying to scare ya but want you to expect any kind of side effect with your treatments. my wife saw fairys come out of the computer and turn into a butterfly the first week of treatment with interleukin2, and everything was pink and pretty for the first few days after she got home. but this 3rd week of IL2 she saw different things and thought she was 26 years old, saw her brother and his 2 kids sitting by her bed, told the nurse she didnt need to talk to the dr;s because we were gonna have a big shingdig with them later and would talk to them then lol. so be prepaired for anything. and her BP keeps dropping real low also.

im self employed elect/plumber so im fortunate enough to beable to take off as long as i need to be with my wife and help her out so we dont need home health care as of yet. the first treatment of this treatment made 6 tummers completly disapear, and the large one under her arm shrank to the size of a golfball, but after 2 months it grew back even larger so were here again at vanderbuilt doing round 2.

all i can really say is stay as strong as ya can, drink lots of water. i mean lots. as much as you can drink. it will help you recover alot faster and keep you from pealing and dehydrating. also keeps ya from itching too.
