      Katy,

So sorry to hear your news.  I have been thinking about you a lot and hoped we cross paths Friday at Dr. Albertini's office.  I am at a loss for words.  I truly felt we'd both have NED status to report. I am so angry at melanoma but so encouraged by you as I know eventually I will find myself in your shoes. FIGHT LIKE A GIRL AND KICK mels ASS!

      Prayerfully yours,

      Mary (NED 2 years)

      Nick,

I have been following your journey on your blog.  I can not express as eloquently as you how melanoma has impacted my life a well as those around me.  And although I have not been through the numerous procedures and treatments as your wife and therefore can't know what you are all going through, I keep you in my daily prayers.

      Caringly,

      Mary

      Jill and Family,

I weep as I read your post.  I have been following your journey since mine began in Feb 2009. My "spot" was in almost the exact location as Eric's, in fact our skin grafts look eerily similar.  Although I am a firm believer in faith and that God doesn't want to see his children sick, I grapple at times like this to fully comprehend his plan.  I know you will find strength as your next journey begins and I will continue to pray for you and your family.

      Caringly,

SOOOO very happy for you!  I'll continue to keep you in my prayers.  I had my PET scan last Friday in Madison and am happy to report that by the grace of God I am 17 months NED.  Hoping to increase my time at work next year as I feel the "monkey is off my back".  I have let melanoma dicate too much of my life these past 2 years.  I must start living now!

      Hi Katy,

This is your neighbor Mary, from Little Chute.  I saw the article Gloria West wrote about you in the Post Crescent last week.  I was so praying all was well with you.  I don't know much about craniotomies but want to offer my support and encouragement to you and your husband.  If there is anything (I know everyone says this but I truly mean it.) I can do please contact me at mbz@charter.net or 920.740.8277.  Do you have dogs/pets that need looking after?  A gift card to your favorite store or restaurant?  I'm a terrible cook otherwise I'd offer to bring you chicken soup!!!  You name it and I'm there for you!

Keep fighting.  Through your strength you give all of us warriors hope.

I used Intron-A (interferon) May-June of 2009.  It is like an epi-pen so only one shot each of the 3 days was necessary.  I did just visit the Intron-A web site and it is still available, however, it appears it is used in patients 18 years and older.  Not sure why?

      Hi Cindy,

I hope you and your husband like Dr. Albertini as much as I do.  He is very compassionate and I never feel rushed when  I see him.  I see him this Friday as well.  I have a 9:30 PET scan and then I see him at around 1:00.  Praying for continued NED status but am also prepared for the worst.
