Hi Karina, I’m sorry for all you’re going through right now – the scan stress is considerable, too. I am also recently diagnosed stage 3a in September and also feel blindsided and scared for my two young kids (4&6 years). I don’t have advice since this is new to me as well, except that I have found reading posts here very helpful and have also joined a local support group I found through my cancer/melanoma center. Talking with others who understand some of the emotions because they have experienced them and gotten through them themselves has been helpful and grounding and hopeful to me. The melanoma primer link posted above is also very helpful; I’ve discovered the field is changing rapidly and up to date info is really different from older info. Take care, kelly

I'm so sorry you are in that terrible waiting place for scans/tests/information. I am a new IIIA patient myself, so I'm learning and I don't have much helpful advice to share. It sounds like you are being proactive and doing all you can to get ahead in getting your scans moved up (and I think you are also waiting for BRAF testing results?). I'd repeat advice about not researching too much until you have more information, but I can't follow that advice myself. Hopefully someone else here can chime in with more specific advice, but in the meantime, I just wanted to respond that you are being heard out here and I'm wishing you good answers soon. Do keep us posted. – Kelly

Hi Mike, Hang in there… it sounds rough right now, but glad to hear you are seeking another opinion since it sounds like there may be other options – including for managing these other pains. Reading your support for others and also all the support on this board for you is heartening. Sending positive thoughts for you especially today and tomorrow. – Kelly

Thank you for posting the link here this morning! I was a bit late, but I was able to tune in for some of it. I hope they share the slides or a recording of the webcast later. I'm newly diagnosed and actively learning about and considering different treatment options and the slides were helpful. -Kelly

I'm sorry to hear this news, too, Mike. I'm newly diagnosed and have been reading posts and archives and have really found the support community here a bright spot among everything else. I appreciate your support to the group… this is my first post/comment and it's just to say there are even more people supporting you through this next blip in the plan than you know. -Kelly
