So very sorry to hear about all that you have been through. You have meant so much to me and all of the other mela-homies on this site. We couldn't get through our troubles without you and are grevously pained to hear about everything you are enduring now.
But, you are such a wonderful human being and all heart and love to everyone else, that this love will come back to you 100 fold and you will get through this.. Recovery and Italy are waiting for you and you will be there.

Yes, I had the same experience.
My B12 and hemoglobin kept going down until I was completely anemic. The ability of my body to make B12 never recovered and I still need monthly B12 shots. However, the anemia did resolve once treatment was over.
Hang in there–wishing you the best.

After nivo-ipi treatment, I became anemic. However, it was pernicious anemia, not iron-deficiency anemia, due to my immmune system attacking the cells in the gastro-intestinal system that produce vitamin B-12. I recovered very quickly with B-12 shots, and still take them monthly. Once gone, the internal production of B-12 usually doesn't return.
I was referred to gastroenterologists. Hou might ask your oncologist for a referral.

Hi, Dave
Not to add confusion, but Dr. Ribas at UCLA is one of the great researchers in the field. And, it's always a good idea to get second and even third opinions. I even got a fourth opionion at the beginning. If you can meet the new doctor at Angeles Clinic, plus have appts with the others you will be able to determine who is the very best fit.

If I remember, you are in San Diego. There are nationally recognized melanoma experts in Los Angeles–Dr. Antoni Ribas at UCLA and Dr. Hamid at Angeles Clinic in Santa Monica (lots of talk about him in recent posts).
I would urge you to consult with one of them.

Hi, I had the same response to the combo ipi/PD1–became NED, but I lost all the hair color on my body.
I've been NED now for two years, but the color has never returned. Everyone's reaction is different, of course, but mine never did. As you say, insignificant compared to Stage IV……
