I am utterly shocked. Celeste was the heart and soul of this forum. Apart from being compassionate and kind, she also had tremendous knowledge and gave me a lot of hope when I was first diagnosed nearly 6 years ago.

She overcame melanoma and it seems that she lost the battle against adenocarcinoma from what I read in previous posts.

May god rest her soul. Quite a few like MelanomaMike and others passed away in recent years as well. Like Celeste they will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Hi, I am sorry that you have joined our club of Melanoma Warriors.

Mitotic rate indicates how many cancerous cells are dividing . The higher, the more prone to spreading the cells are.

However, from what I understand, mitotic rate is not taken into account anymore in the latest staging standards for Melanoma. Besides, the mitotic rate and definition is very vague and tests have shown that if you give the same sample to a bunch of pathologist, each will come up with a different mitotic rate, hence not reproducable.

      So you should not worry.

      All the best

      Christian

      Dear Beany,

Those are fantastic news. I am very happy for you. Getting a complete response to immunotherapy lasting already approx 3 years is amazing. From what I understand after so many months with clear scans, according to statistics, you have there moved from NED to the “cured” category !!!! Love Christian

I am glad you did not have to wait too long and you got the neck dissection behind you.
You will be fine. I am also stage III and my dissection was nearly 5 years ago. All good so far. Keep up the spirirt. You will do just fine. I know it is difficult, especially in the beginning, there are tons of people on this forum ,who bounced back and are enjoying life to the fullest. Take care Christian

Thats great news Scout. I vividly remember my negative CT & MRI scans, a week after getting told about the positive SLNs in my groin. Did BRAF/MEK for a year after that with hardly any side effects. I now in my 4th recurrent free year, although I had a scare about 2 months ago, when they found slightly swollen nodes in my groin. However, they returned to normal a couple of weeks later…. Hang in there and lets beat this nasty thing 🙂 VERY VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!

      Hi Jenn,

so wonderful to hear that you have passed the 5 year mark. When I was first diagnosed 3 years ago, I used to read a a lot of your posts and I know the road to being cancer free was not an easy one for you.

Enjoy life and dont forget to post a similar message (marking 10 years NED) in 2027 :)))

      Take care

      Christian

      Hi Amy,

whilr I welcome any functionality improvement on this forum, I think the most important issue has not been adressed yet.

When will we get the Profile information / patient history back?

All this data somehow did not make it into the new forum when the transition occurred.

      Thanks in advance

      Christian
