        Hi there.  I'm not an expert but I had a WLE for a severely atypiucal mole last year.  The belief is to find clear margins and the only way to do so is to excision.

            I had another atypical mole removed today.  That would be 3 in a year.  One was severely atypical, one was just a common mole and the small one (2.5mm) removed today.  Do you think the derm is more cautious about removing any atypical mole given I've had a severely atyplical one in the recent past or is it more of a judgement call by the doc?

              I can't answer but I have the same question.  It came back as a pigmented mole but given the location (lower back/upper butt) I'd like to know if I should get it totally removed since the shave didn't get everything.
