I don't have much to offer but I too am a crazy mom after a stage 1a diagnosis and just today I had my 10 month old at the dermatologist to have a small brown mole on her knee looked at.. it's been stressing me for months and scared as I am for myself I'm doubly scared for her.. anyway the dermatologist looked my baby from head to toe and even in her mouth and says she is fine.. keep an eye on the mole and check back in in 6 months or a year.. do I feel better? Somewhat.. but the crazy Mom the crazy melanoma scared part of me is still looking for something to panic over.. just replied to say you are not alone and by no means crazy.. prayers for your daughter and quite possibly the spot will go away and it's not melanoma.. this board will tell you it's rare in children under 15.. best wishes Traci

I had a stage 1a 6 weeks after having my daughter.. back in march..  a WLE, a pet scan, and several dyplastic nevis with WLEs later I'm still here.. now whether it is spreading or not because of my postpartum status I don't know.. my anxiety level stays on high but with a full time job and a 10 month old I don't have much time to dwell.. I feel fine.. nothing strange is going on with me and I'm seeing my dermatologist on a regular basis.. I'm very new to this and not much help but if you search this board you will find a lot of mothers who found out during or right after their pregnancies and they are still here raising their babies.. there are the exceptions of course and I've found them in my insane googling.. best advice is wait and see.. if it is get it treated.. but most importantly live and take care of your baby.. don't do like I've done and dwell and worry.. Best of luck and prayers.. Traci

What led you to go to the ER?

Thankfully out of the 3 only one came back as a dysplastic Nevis so I'm scheduled for a WLE on 12 21.. I was disappointed and relieved at the same time.. this will be the 4th dyplastic Nevis since April when the stage 1 was removed.. I'm 41 as well and never had skin checks.. also baked in the sun all my life.. so frustrating to think about.. do u mind if I ask you how long since your diagnosis?

Thank you for responding.. yes I've walked around like I'm on borrowed time for 6 months and everything I see is melanoma.. I'm trying to be positive this time and very busy with work and a 9 month old.. I should know tomorrow or Friday.. you said you were like this for the first year.. have u had any complications.. any scares.. any biopsies and if so are you ok? I'm looking forward to the 2nd year and some peace..
