You'd think I wouldn't, but I still do – get nervous that is prior to scans. This Saturday bright and early I'll be warming up the CT and MRI scanners at DFCI. Would welcome any and all good vibes, prayers and kind thoughts you'd care to send my way! My husband who is a kidney cancer survivor just received an 'all clear' from his scans 2 weeks ago…so I hope to follow suit.

Elephant sized good vibes just sent your way! Did you feel them?

Why on earth would we think you wouldn't get nervous? I think we all do at least to some degree. If it wasn't so darn serious, I think it would be funny – almost a ritual – the sleepless nights, the diet and activitiy restriction, the pre-scan fast, the nurse fumbling to find a vein for an IV…
Sending you all my good vibes — save 'em up and send 'em back my way when you're through with them, because my scans are next Friday!

Oh, and I almost forgot part of the ritual – being eager to drink the CT contrast because you haven't been allowed to eat or drink anything for hours and you're starting to feel parched!
Just trying to get a giggle out of you – it's always easier with a smile.

I would LOVE to drink the scan juice, but all they give me is an injection into my arm. And I am STARVING to DEATH. You'ld think that with a disease as serious as melanoma, I could at least forget about food for a day. NOT.
I just prayed for ya,

"Scananxiety" is certainly a familiar feeling that affects patients and caregivers alike.
I hope that the results will show that there is nothing to worry about. It is incredible
that you have been Stage IV since 2005.You are in my prayers.
Best wishes

I have scans in two weeks and I am already starting to get hyped up about them. I have a friend you had stage 1 testicular cancer. Has to have scans once a year told me to get used to the anxiety because he gets it every time. You and other long time stage IV'ers and all those who are NED are my driving force – because I know it is possible to beat this beast. Let us know how it goes for you.
All my best to you and more huge great vibes!

Yea for your husband, Rocco, and prayers that all goes well with you!
Lord, we thank You for the "all clear" for Rocco's husband and, in Your mercy, pray the same happens for her. Grant Your daughter Your peace at this time and let her feel You near holding her and giving her strong nerves in the face of these scans. God just take her anxieties and worries and help her enjoy these beautiful days knowing You're in control. walk with her through this storm and calm it. Thank You. Amen.
Grace and peace to you Rocco,
Carol (give hubby hallelujah hugs!)
