Hi Family, boy I’m not good emotionaly, I’m trying to keep it together not only for myself but for my wife, I can tell she’s ” one more bad news away” from losing it, my tumor that was suppose to be taking out last Thursday is starting to hurt, it’s on my left side just under my last rib. Naproxines have always been my go to pain med, works great so far. I just cant believe they canceled it, oh I’m not a “candidate” for surgery, what the hell is that!!!?? Any ways, and my bowel movements are really letting me know that the Mel Monster in my Sigmoid is alive and attempting to take over, I won’t go into graphics but, put it this way, I’m starting to be afraid to eat. I looked up diets, fatty fish, nuts, fruits lots a water ( Wich I do anyways) and eat small meals throughout the day…..
Just updating you on my feelings, I’m just so upset…love ya guys, always have..

Hi Mike! I’m sorry you are going through all this! I think saying your upset is an understatement! I was upset when I read your previous posts. I can’t believe that the doctors sent you for the scans and biopsies to find the ‘problems’ and then canceled your surgery and didn’t offered any other ‘solutions’. I am praying you get a second opinion and then a good game plan in place for treatment! Keeping you (and all our melanoma peeps) in my prayers!-

Mike;
I have to go with Bubbles…melanoma sucks great big hairy wizard balls. So sorry that this is so sucky for you right now, and for your wife as well. Having been the patient and the caregiver too, I know how it is. I hope and pray for you that the docs can get their brown stuff in a sock and get you an updated treatment plan. You are still fighting, so they should still be fighting for you.
I love you brother and think of you often.

Mike, you are so unbelievable strong! You WILL beat this. I feel it. I read lots of your further posts. I can imagine how scary all this must be for you but I’m pretty sure, with another doctor and treatment plan you will kick that shitty bastard in the ass.I know how controversial this topic is but did you try sodium bicarbonate as a therapy against mets? (Guess you know that Vernon Johnston Protocol) I know there is no scientific proof but I’m stage IV too and read the book from Dr Sircus and in your situation I think I would definitely give this thing a try.
Sorry for my English. I pray for you buddy!

Dear Mike,Since I joined this forum in January, I have followed all your messages and admired your strength and positive attitude. I really hope you can get the surgery done asap and that the Opdivo is kicking in full gear. Maybe it can be combined with any other therapy. Your profile says you were initially diagnosed in 2008, which means you have put up a tough fight for 11 years. The way I see it ,it is a war of attrition between you and Melanoma and both sides are getting worn down after being in battle for 11 year war. Just make sure you keep on fighting, so Melanoma is beaten into remission for good. With all the weapons and ordnance you have thrown at Melanoma, the sucker is suffering and you will win in the end. I just had my revision here in Germany and the doctors were telling me amazing stories of people wit stage IV ,who beat melanoma into remission against all odds. And these stories become more and more frequent !
Take care
Chris

Hey Mike,You and your wife definitely got thrown for an unexpected loop, one day thinking getting surgery and treatment and next day the doctor took those plans away. The doctor definitely pulled the rug out from under your feet for some reason that they need to explain better. As we all know, limbo is the worst place to be in, when you don’t know which direction you are going in next. We all do better with having SOME direction or plan of action. And your wife obviously just wants you to better and free of this beast. It is really hard to watch people we love go through these battles, just want them to feel g00d. I’m hoping Dr. Hamid gets involved, I know he is definitely a ROCK STAR. You deserve explanation and new plan of action. Many hugs, Jackie
