Anyone ever hear from Aldakota? He had the lepto issues going on and it's been a long time. He is always so strong and inspirational. He hasn't posted in long time…I hope all is well but I'm worried.

      Hi Josh,

I feel your concern and wonder the same myself.  Since joining this site in 2010 I have lost tract of many people with whom I really bonded with on MPIP.  I wish there was a way to have an alternate email, kind of like emergency contact, where we could inquire with a family or friend on the status of our melanoma buddy.

I really love this website but have also felt the loss and discouragement of lost contacts and no way to know what the status is of each of them.  I enjoy so much when others pop up once a year to give an update to their status or at least update their profile, it's so very important!

Swanee you said it best, I often think of people who have posted regularly and then they're gone…you hear nothing. I just hope they're well. Al is one….Beat the beast"! Always positive and encouraging. I knew he had some challenges but was hoping he'd be back.

I have wondered about this too, Josh. Al was a fixture here for a while. I know he was facing something very serious with the lepto when he dropped off.

I asked about Al several months ago and no one knew anything.  Did anyone here know his last name?  Did he have to use it to sign up — maybe Tim knows?

Dunno how he is doing either. I know Facebook isn't for everyone and other than setting it up I didn't do much with it until this disease. Now I try to update it every Sunday and sometimes more often if things are going on. It has helped me emotionally. A couple people have face booked me from this site. Just a thought. The way I sometimes feel especially the last few weeks I might stop posting someday and not for a good reason. I hope not though. But just today I was just eating half a bite of chicken sandwich and with my swallowing issue started choking that dad almost had to call 911. Totally ridiculous to fight this long just to almost choke to death trying to eat. Anyway sorry to have hijacked the topic from this gentleman. Just thought it was an idea to keep tabs on folks we are concerned about.
