I just had my pet scan today after 5 infusions of Keytruda. Should hear within the next 24 hours where I stand regarding the efficacy of the treatment. Anxious but hopefuly!!!!

Hoping the Keytruda is doing its thing. Agree, scanxiety is the worst. We have both a CT & MRI this coming Saturday. Keep us posted.

Fingers crossed for good news! I had a brain MRI Friday evening due to symptoms and I've had to wait all weekend to hear the results… it's been an anxious weekend to say the least.

Just got results; no evidence of disease. Boy do I feel lucky. Dr. says he want me to undergo 3 more Keytruda infusions than monitor me with pet scans for a prolonged period of time. Does this sound right? Thanks again for all your support and caring.

Great news! Every 3 months is the typical scan interval. Is the doc saying he only wants you to do 3 more infusions and then no more? I know every doc has their own opinion on when to stop treatment, but that seems a little early to me, but also depends on how your body is tolerating it as well.

That is such wonderful news! Thank you for sharing with us. It's good to be able to celebrate sometimes! Please do get a second opinion about the optimal number of Keytruda treatments, or at the very least ask your doctor about his reasoning. The plan for my husband is a total of 4 Opdivo and Yervoy combo treatments, three weeks apart, followed by Opdivo every two weeks, indefinitely, as long as he is responding. Things are changing so quickly in the treatment of melanoma right now. Be sure that your doctor is on top of all the recent changes. Best of luck! And thanks again for sharing!

I also thought that 8 Keytruda sessions was not current with the majority's opinion for the proper protocol. It was my understanding that most patients receive a minimum of 24 months. I will get a second opinion in order to insure I am not cutting myself short.

I've heard anywhere from 1 to 2 years after NED.. so 8 in total definitely seems minimal. I would ask your doc their reasoning on such a small amount of infusions.
