      Hey Dick

I had an appt scheduled today with Dr. Pavlick (rescheduled from this past tues). There was no way I could get into NYC from Babylon so I tried calling without success.

I got a robocall from NYU cancer center today saying that they have had telephone outage and they would be closed for the week. NYU was hit especially hard with the storm.

I’m thinking that they should be back next week.

      Hi

I have been a patient of Dr. Pavlick for almost 7 years now (actually have a routine Clinical trial follow up this Wed).  I cannot say enough about this doctor: she's sharp, kind, honest and very determined.  The NYU Cancer Center in general is filled with caring and sharp people.  Personally, I have seen and wouldn't mind seeing anyone else that works along side Dr. Pavilick because she is that good.

That being said, you are looking for a 2nd opinion I assume.  In that case I would want to see Dr. Pavlick and her alone because this is a critical time for you.  I would call back and explain the situation and  ask if you could be squeezed into the next available appointment to see her.

      Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hey Pat

I had my WLE at North Shore 6 years ago by Dr Faynsod who was with Dr. Beg's practice in Great Neck.  At that time I had called Sloan Kettering but like you, they didn't take my insurance. I have Empire Gov't/United Health Care

I would up going to NYU Cancer Center on 34th street where they take my insurance. My doctor is Dr. Anna Pavlick and  I cannot say enough about NYU Cancer and especially Dr. Pavlick – she is awesome.

      Hi

He is not my doctor but I have seen him speak many times at melanoma conferences.  He is super bright and seems determined to find a solution.

I can't speak to MSKCC but I can give you my opinion on NYU cancer center.  I've been a patient of Dr. pavlick for the last 9 years.  I cannot say enough positive things about my experience; it is a top notch institution .

NYU prides itself on patient care and it shows.
