Hi Charlie
Gave Laura and Amber and Diane and Andrew the update of the IL2 treatment
Good luck next round and we all hope to see you this summer either down there or up here in NJ for a get together
Going to Vancouver in Washington State as I mentioned.for work but not in the mood but there are worse places for our factories
If you want some bad electric guitar in your room, I will come and play but that would ruin any sleep for you!.
See you

Hello
This Mike from NJ
Started out stage 1A in 1999 and progressed to stage 3B in 2004 with macro nod ein right axilla. Had 27 nodes removed, radiation, and then a peptide vaccine trail called Mel-43
Developed lymphedema in right arm and been going for scans ever since and so far all is OK
So stage 3B for 11 years and NED
Take vitamin D3, curcumin, AHCC, and some other items all this time
Good luck to all newly diagnosed. I was very very unlucky at stage 1A with odds greatly in my favor but very fortunate at 3B status.

Hi Jenny
I have been stage 3B since 2004 after 5 years at stage 1A. I skipped ny X-ray in 2013 but will go back in May for another check up. You mentioned a vaccine trial. Back in 2004, I went to UPMC and had a peptide vaccine called Mel-43, developed by Dr Slingoff at UVA. I did go to Dr Pavlick back then but there were no local ttrials open and I did not want interferon so i wondered off to Pittsburgh with Dr Kirkwood.
A few of us that I know in the trial are still NED. My treatemt also consisted of lymph nodes removed in my axilla and high dose radiation to my axilla. Good a pretty good case of lymphedema in my arm as a result
Back then, this site was humming with a vibrant chat room. As soon as I got home from work, I logged on and we had a group always in the room. Not sure what happened here to this site now, but it seems dead to me,
I take some supplements and not sure if they are helping or just creating expensive urine, but I will stay the coarse.
Good luck going forward. Not sure what path is best as there are more options now than back in 2004
Listening now to a Velvet Underground tune called "Rock & Roll" featuring a Jenny as the main character!!
All the best

Hi Mike
Keep fighting and best wishes going forward. Hoping that you and your doctors come up with a way to beat the lung disease.
yes, MRF is a good thing for all of us. Best way to learn what others are doing and to get advice. I started a supplement regiment from things I learned here back then.
Take care.

Hi MMH
Hang in there. I recall when I was stage 1A I was very worried until you just get sick of worrying. Then when I was stage 3B, the worry returned but not as strong as the beginning. I think it has to do with with confronting our mortality for the first time with the original DX, especially if your health is good otherwise.
I tried to do stuff to keep my mind off the negative stuff which can help (reading, online chess, guitar) but, as I said in my original post, the old chat room was the place tro be to let off some steam and unwind.
Cheers,
Mike K

Hi Jennifer
I guess we have simialr type backgrounds. Good luck to you as well with treatments and scans.
I have not had a chest X ray in a few years but getting one soon I think. Ah, the joy of scans. I rewrote lyrics for "I'm waiting for my man" to "I'm waiting for my scan" and can play the chords on guitar.
My wifes 91 year old uncle is getting a wLE for in situ this week on his back.
Take care
Mike K
