        Hi Tracie, I am also very sorry you are here. I currently am stage 4 as of april 2017 and still having scans every 3 months until further notice from Onc. Glad you seeing a melanoma specialist and if you ever question anything don’t be afraid to seek a second opinion ! I wish you the best!

          Hi Sj, I had the injections in the side of my face and they were very painful. Hopefully the scalp is not as bad, goodluck! Wish you the best

            Hey Mike, keep up the fight brother! I’ve read through alot of ur post and you’re a fighter man! I was just recently told they found a mass in my abdomen-simoid colon causing stricture. I pray the best for you !

              Hi Tracie I have been getting head to toe PET scans every 3 to 6 months and brain mri every 6 to 12 months, both for the past 3 years, my Onc said the 3to5 year period is important time to watch closely. Hope this is some help to you! Wish you the best!

                Definitely find a Melanoma specialist! I would recommend may getting a second opinion from cardio thoracic surgeon also. My first surgeon said my tumor was too close to aorta but second surgeon said no problem! Surgery is no fun but I think if they can get it out safely , that’s the best start!

                  Thank you for the link Brian, Yeah I have spoke with doc and have split dosage up, seem to help ease headaches, but usually by bedtime the are back if not they are there by the time I wake up. Sleeping has been so so, doc prescribed me Trazadone, but I haven’t taken, had new ct and mri friday, so hopefully get some info from doc in net couple of days. He did not say anything about seeing an endocrinologist but I will ask, thanks again for the info, the information and more importantly the people on this site are great! Thank you again Brian and I hope all is well!

                    Hi Brian, I’m still on the steroids 100 MG til this Thursday, then down 20mg every 3 days.still having the headaches, they ease up like you said about an hour after taking steroids. But typically are back in the evenings and have been waking up with headache. Dr wants me to be off for about 4 days before they do labs. I have noticed my eyesight is not right, did you experience that? Hope all is well!

                      Even diagnosed recently with stage IV , I still get from nurses “melanoma in your lung?” And the doctor and first oncolgist i seen,that told me that the mass in my lung “probably wasn’t melanoma because it usually doesn’t spread there” alot of education just isn’t there even in the health care industry.

                        Thanks Brian, I hope your doing well, the headaches from the ipi are no joke! Had for 6 days before starting steroids now 2 days on steroids and they ease up but come back in evening. Hope all is well Brian thanks for the info

                          Thank you all for you support, the melanoma on my face was just Over 4mm. Sentinel node biopsy was negative. That was 2001.last week while in the hospital for Diverticulitis the ct showed 3×3+cm mass in lung. They performed biopsy while in the hospital and confirmed Tuesday it was melanoma. I am supposed to see a thoracic surgeon. I have met with oncologist but not a melanoma specialist. I did see specialist in 2001 but he did not recommend any further treatment. My current oncologist says after surgery, would be treatments.
