Doug, this is a scary  time for both of you. Last January I had lump in right groin only 3.4cm, I had lymph node dissection removing 16 nodes. 5 positive for melanoma. I would recommend getting this done, lymphodemia will be a possibility but manageable with exercise and massage. I saw my oncologist, he is not melanoma specialist and was comfortable with his choice of treatment. I had radiation after the surgery. I chose not to try any clinical trials, it did come back now stage 4, went on taf/me combo in September and now in remission. Positive additive and faith in your Doctor. Blessings during this time. Jamie

I would definitely go the taf/me combo, it worked for me. Started in Sept 2015, lump under my arm was gone within weeks. 6 months later both the tumors under my arm and groin gone, no active sign of cancer cells. I'm stage 4 and in remission.  Jake would like this pills at home, side affects not too bad, really worth it. Keeping you in my prayers. Jamie

One of the best thing about this site is you can vent your problems and then find out hey your normal!!! I have been on the Taf/mek combo since August.  The side affects were about the same, but went to only 1 day a week.  I've been on an antidepessent for years and still on- Zoloft.

I have found that if I excersize starting with 15 minutes a day and adding with will give you some energy back, I also do some yoga to try and keep my head grounded.  I used to laugh at people doing yoga, but hey it kind of works- besides it's natural and with all these crazy drugs we are on the natural is also good. I have found if I get crazy stressed or falling in the deep hole, I will get a massage and accupunture.  They use accupuncture of stress releif and really helps me sleep.

So from reading all the other posts, sound like you have no problem- well cancer, but hey don't let it beat you!

What you are going through we all have been there, will go back there and know what your feeling.  Support groups help, but in some area's they don't have support groups- my case.  So I found what I could do with the most natural way I could.

Good luck and please know you are not alone.

                          Yes Hugs to you.

I had a lymphnode dissection last March, they removed 16 nodes, of those 5 tested positive for Melanoma.  This was my right groin, after healing I went through 20 sessions of radiation. You mentioned your fear is the lymphodima,  yes I have  it. But really not too bad. Summer months I would do water exercise that really helped. Now during the winter I wear a compression sleeve on my leg, there are exercises to help and easy massage techniques.  I would definitely do this again, get rid of that crap asap.

Good luck on this journey.  Jamie
