I had two IPI infusions and then two separate colitis tracks that each resulted in a10 day November hospital stay and an 8 day December hospital stay.  Steroids/prednisone were prescribed in each instance but they did not help.  Two Remicaid infusions finally did the trick.  My oncologist will not put me back on the IPI due to these side effects, but right now the underlying disease is stabilized.  and, of course, there are other treatment options if it does not stay stable. Overall, I have been told tht the prednisone not working on my colitis .   Best of luck to your mom.

I am in a clinical trial of Glemb at Dana Farber. I started at highest does but side effects of rash and nausea were pretty bad and they reduced my doseage.  I get infused every 3 weeks and body and brain scans every 6 weeks.  First scans showed no progression.  Current side effects are itch and joint pain. All tolerable.  Standard immunotherapy treatments really did not work with my body chemistry, but Brad/meek worked for about 14 months.  Next scans are next week.  So far I am glad that I took a leap of faith.

I am only 8 & 6 months out from two SRS treatments and 3 months out from WBRT, but my two IPI infusions  that took place 2 & & 5 weeks from the end of the WBRT, and my neurologist is convinced that it was the back to back radiation/IPI treatments that obliterated my multiple brain mets.  Here's hoping for similar results for you.
