Denise, I am sorry to read this news.
It is important to have a tumour genetically tested once surgery has been completed.
Zelboraf, or a MEK clinical trial are possible treatments depending on the type of
genetic mutation that might be detected.Other systemic treatments could include TIL treatment (adoptive cell therapy), Yervoy
(ipi), IL-2 (interleukin-2), or an anti PD-1 (MDX-1106) clinical trial. Some new research suggests that the best way to treat metastatic melanoma is to use
combinatorial therapy. See:

Angela, I am sorry to read that you are a non-responder to the TIL trial. Perhaps the
following trials could be worth investigating:

Sharon, I feel that stable disease is a good sign. Therefore, if the GSK MEK drug has stopped melanoma progressing, it might be an idea for Brent to remain on it until there is some medical evidence to the contrary. The MRI scan result could therefore help you decide what to do next.
I wonder if surgery on the mets causing the most pain has been considered? A surgical oncologist would need to be consulted about this.
Hope this helps.

Erin, surgery does seem like the best option as it can quickly reduce the amount of melanoma cells that the immune system has to deal with.
A long time ago I had surgery for the complications of appendicitis. This resulted in me spending at least a couple weeks in hospital. I expect that surgical procedures have improved greatly since then.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
