      Seven days later still in hospital working on pain meds they can send me home with. rad Dr said it was the largest previous tumor he has seen ablations Done on and rarely does he see them just a day apart. Last couple days can’t get situated in bed. somewhat on chair. Usually jerk every 30 to an hour due to pain.

      Since we finally got ins approval on MEK and Tafinlar together (today) and we just did the ablation and chemoembolization on my liver my Dr and i have decided to stay the course for now.

      Thank you for this post. It clearly explains this battle. I just copied and sent it to my family. Also helps me feel better about decision I have to make in next couple weeks.

      Met with Clinical Trial Dr today. Did not mention the ERK trial. He leaned toward me adding the MEK to the Taflinar which we have been trying to get insurance to approve.  They just denied the prior authorization requesting peer reveiw articles. They did the same thing prior to the FDA approving it as combo therapy.

      I felt better after meeting with him. He is going to consult with Dr Papa concerning potential clinical trials/treatments before suggesting a treatment plan.

      Scheduled to have chemoembolization Friday. He said it would not interfer with the clinical trial if I decided to go that way.

      I have BCBS of AL. I have to go through speciality pharmacy, but Zelboraf, tafinlar and MEK have all been covered. I do know my employer is self insured. Don’t know if makes a difference.
