    My brother's oncologist at Moffitt recently told us that they are no longer accepting patients into their anti-PD1 trials unless and until the patient has tried and failed ipi (Yervoy). Has anyone else heard this? Does anyone know why this should be the case? On the face of it, it seems to be a very odd requirement.

      I’m no expert, but one trial at Vandy that was opened at the end of the year had two arms, one for prior to Ipi and one for failed Ipi. There are many pages of requirements to get into a trial.

      Maybe those are the only slots left. Have you tried emailing Catherine Poole at MIF? She usually has good inside dirt on PD1 trial openings.

      Have you considered restarting your brother on Zelboraf?

      I’m no expert, but one trial at Vandy that was opened at the end of the year had two arms, one for prior to Ipi and one for failed Ipi. There are many pages of requirements to get into a trial.

      Maybe those are the only slots left. Have you tried emailing Catherine Poole at MIF? She usually has good inside dirt on PD1 trial openings.

      Have you considered restarting your brother on Zelboraf?

        Yes, I did ask about reintroducing Zelboraf. My brother is officially a patient at the VA and only consults with the oncologists at Moffitt (about clinical trials, for example). Reintroducing Zelboraf is considered to be an "off label" use and the VA prohibits that. So unless some trial starts at Moffitt that tests the effects of intermittent Zelboraf dosing, that is not an option for my brother.

It only took 4business days and I had state assistance. I believe its medicaid. This might be an option to get him different medical insurance. Hang in there, I know first hand how frustrating it is.
