Glenda.  A dear friend.  A fun person.  A true warrior.  One helluva classy lady.   I've missed her every single day, since she left us 4 years ago.  She's been joined by so many others in the last 4 years, I can't even count them all.  I know she's keeping them amused and up-to-date on the goings-on in Heaven!

I love you my sweet, sweet Glenda.  I know I'll see you again someday….

The first 4 pictures are how I want to remember Glenda.  Please STOP there, unless you want to see the harsh and ugly reality of melasuckanoma.  I took and posted the last pictures at her request..   I didn't identify her in the pictures, but SHE did.   She helped sooo many people here for many years, and even when she was dying, she wanted to help those who were always asking what Sub-Q's were.  Sub-Q's come in all forms, shapes, sizes, and colors.  Glenda's were the worst I've ever seen, and it makes me cry to even post them now.  But I know Glenda wanted people to see and understand how this horrible beast can kill in the form of Sub-Q's.  When I last spoke with Glenda, she told me her organs were clear—it was the Sub-Q's that were killing her—choking off her organs.  Very brave; God bless her soul for sharing with us.  Again, WARNING—these pictures are NOT for the feint of heart.

Glenda and "Grumpy" (Dave)…her hubby who joined the angels not too long before Glenda, at the Biltmore in Asheville:

Glenda grabbing DT's bootay at the Asheville MPIP Bash:

The 'smoking area' at the Michigan MPIP Bash—Glenda, my MamaG, Tim (King's hubby), me and Cigar Bob (Dian in Spokane's hubby):

Lady in Red—-the last time I saw Glenda, just a couple of months before she passed.  She went to the restroom and came out looking like this..haha!  Still made people laugh even when she knew she didn't have long:

      WARNING:  VERY GRAPHIC PICTURES BELOW!!!!

Sub-Q's on her arms: (NO, that is not her breast.)

And on her shoulder, neck, ears…..

These were HUGE on her stomach… football-sized and just hundreds all together:

Oh Lisa she will always be remembered.  With her permission you had sent me some pictures, way back, and I used them to anyone who would look.

Most to those folks who still say  "Its only Skin Cancer"  She was indeed a brave lady.  Seeing those bash pictures of her and Dan etc made me chortle and wish oh wish I had been able to attend these periodic functions.  I am being pressured to get a passport, so  WHO KNOWS?

Oh Bonnie, I wish you could've met Glenda—-you and she would have gotten along great!  She used to make me laugh so hard  my face would hurt!!

I haven't heard of a 'bash" in a long time… wish they were still having them yearly, though, with the shape my mom's in, and me keeping the girls, it's gonna be difficult for me to attend any.  But that's not to say I won't give it my all trying! =)

Get that passport, woman!! ASAP!!   *Hugz* and love to my Canadian boobless and earlid friend!

Thanks for posting this reminder, Lisa. I will NEVER forget Glenda, ever.  I was so glad I got to meet her at Cheryl's, she was sweet and sassy at the same time.

I will also never forget  the time those teenagers found our chat room and just drove us all crazy, night after night.  She tracked them down and CALLED THEIR SCHOOL and the harassment finally stopped. That was back when chat was such a hoot, you never knew what was going to happen and she was a huge part of that.  So many good people gone that we've come to know.  It's so sad and she was SO brave through it all.

We were in TN two weeks ago, visiting our son and his family and I must have been past your sister's house a hundred times.  We had such a good time, I miss those kids so much!  Anyway, I'm glad you reminded everyone of Glenda, I will go light the lovely candle she sent me not long before she passed and think of her some more.  Take care.

Hey Debbie! Yep, Glenda will never be forgotten by many (though I see not many posted..guess a lot more 'old-timers' than I thought don't post much anymore, like me!)

Glenda was determined to get rid of those nasty teens.. lol!  I never did 'chat' much, but heard all about it!

I'm so jealous you got to go to Franklin!  I miss my sis—I'd LOVE to move there someday, but I think John will always want to be here in TX (even though he has a son in Franklin and one in Charlotte, NC!!)  We'd be a LOT closer to them.  He may be more willing after he retires (IF he ever retires–he's 68 and has no plans!! grrrr!), and after his mom is gone—she's 97 now!  (Longevity runs in their family—her mom lived to almost 103!)   Judy (my sis) just texted me 2 days ago to let me know her daughter is now engaged!  So I know I'll be attending a wedding whenever they set a date! (Probably late summer or fall of next year.)   I haven't been able to talk to Judy yet (busy busy busy), so I don't know if it'll be a small, intimate wedding, or a huge one!)

Anyhoo, you take care, too!  I have a little one home sick today (stopped up, coughing, running temp).  Hate it when they're sick!  PLUS, we're dealing with those damn head-lice again!   *SCREAMING*  Last time (2-3 years ago), took us 6 months to get rid of the lil bastards!!  I'm so tired of nit-picking and vacuuming I could puke!!  We're using natural this time (olive oil) and it seems to work better than the commercial stuff!  I gob it on them at night, do the picking, then put a shower cap on them (and use towels to cover their pillows), then we pick again and use Dawn dishwashing liquid in the mornings to shampoo it out.  I was told a louse can hold it's breath for up to 5-1/2 hours…… so we're suffocating them for about 7 hours a night! lol!!  I'm *almost* wishing I had 3 grandsons here—I'd shave 'em bald and be done!! haha!

Keep in touch, or I'll catch ya on facebook!  *Hugz*

                                              Hi Lisa,

thanks for posting about Glenda. I still talk about Glenda in chat and I loved seeing the pics of her and her 'grumpy' My favorite time in chat with Glenda was when some teenager came in and told us he worked in a funeral home. It was just Glenda and I and this person, who, I guess, thought he could scare us talking about all the details of body prep. I assured him that it wasn't that easy to scare a melanoma patient, melanona being scarier by far than some chat room troll. Glenda was so nice to him, I could hardly believe her.

I just saw this post today! I've had a little trouble getting to my computer as bob and I are sharing for a few days while his is disconnected (we're recarpeting and painting his office and his smoking den) My house sort of resembles a horders house right now, with office equiptment and furniture all over my living room and dining room.

The first time I met Glenda, in Asheville, she took me aside to show me a sub Q, because I had been asking about them on the board. I still miss her.

Well for crying out loud I remember Glenda….sorta.    The first time I actually met Glenda I was wasted in Asheville.  However in spite of that, she invited me into her home.

I did visit her home and enjoyed the time with her and DAve and her daughter.

Even more, I was blessed to spend Thanksgiving with her, her husband, son a daughter in her home.

Dave was alive then and I so was regalled with how he had set a bar on fire in his earlier life.  I could so relate to that,

Not too long after that visit, DAve, her husband died.

At the time, I was living at the beach and  Glenda wanted to visit me.

I had not seen Glenda is several months when she said she was coming to the beach, told me how she could not walk welll, so I got to the airport early, explained at the ticket counter why I needed a wheelchair, doing securitty exclusions and all of that I was at the gat to fetch her.

the flight attendant at the gate looked at me and asked me, wheelchair in hand, who I was looking for and I said Glenda DAvis and she pointed to a woman in a wheelchair and said "this is Glenda Davis"……………..so, I bundled her up, went down the ramp to be met at baggage claim by a young lady  and her muscular husband wanting to know why I was driving there mother…………………..off to my side, I SAW Glenda, standing at baggage claim as I saw her last and laughing her ass off.

Glenda and I ( after we got out of the airport). had a great time at my little beach and  frive months later Kim was dead and in the sixth month, Glenda was dead.

                                                  Yes. I remember Glenda.
