Hey all
Yesterday was my second dose of 240 mg of Opdivo. It went well but noticed it was over in no time… Came to find our they are now infusing the 240 mg over 30 minutes rather than an hour. The only reaction I have had is skin itching and weird skin outbreaks (as I had and still have with my first infusion) but the fatgue was more this time. Slept 12 hours but going to work this am. The nurse said that they are ramping up the time of infusions as well.
Anyone taking the 240 mg dose notice this? So every 2 weeks a 30 minute infusion of the 240 mg is now my regime rather than an hour. As long as it works… im ok with it.
Beats the alternative!!
All the best
Dessie

Some facilities have a policy of giving the patient the infusion over a greater period of time at the start to check for any reactions and then change over to the 30 minute time frame once they have shown they can tolerated it. During my trial they had a very slow infusion rate and very long post infusion observation time at the start and adopted shorter time frames for both when we failed to grow three heads. You can always ask the nurses at your infusion center about the change. However it is infused…should have no impact on effect. celeste

Went to the 30 minutes and it was not a problem for me. They were about to up me to the double dose so i only had togo once a month, but opdivo was found to not be working for me and i have togo back under the knoife and a new treatment after that.

I just had my second treatment with Opdivo, as well. And it was changed to the 30 minute infusion. Like you, my fatigue was worse. A lot worse! I slept for about 15 hours and was a zombie for another 6 or so. I wasn’t sure if it was just because it was my second treatment or because it was given faster. I really don’t want to change to the every 4 week regimen. I think it will be too hard on me. Hopefully, my doc will let me keep going every 2 weeks.
