I do!  I am a patient of Dr. Craig Slingluff at UVA.  My dermatologist called him "The Melanoma Man."  He is smart, dedicated, and kind.  I love him and his office.  Patrice Neese is the NP and she is equally wonderful..

Dr Slingluff does research and creates and runs Clinical Trials and is a  leader in finding help for Melanoma Patients in addition to a great surgeon.  I trust him completely.  In fact, he saved my life.  (I am 6 yrs NED, following recurrent MM – 10 1/2 yrs NED before that.)  Google him…

          Good luck!     Beth

              Hi Scots…

I am also a followed at UVA.  My Medical Oncologist is Dr Geoffrey Weiss.  My Surgeon is Dr. Slingluff.

Both are very accomplished and Melanoma Specialists.  I have been see at Johns Hopkins also and find at the admin at UVA to be much easier and friendlier.

Dr Weiss makes himself available to all his patients via E-mail and phone ….and answers either very quickly.

I would be happy to talk to you via phone.   Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the Doctors names.  I have read lots of the replys to new posters. They all say that you should see a melanoma specialist.  When they say a 'melanoma specialist'  are they talking about and oncologist, surgeon or dermatologist?  I have been told that I need to be agressively watched.  Now I need to decide who would be best for that job.   I will look into Dr.Weiss and DR. Slingluff.

                  Thanks

Thank you, folks for these names! I’m sending tumor slides to UVA and needed the name of an oncologist there. These posts make all the difference. I’m so glad you took the time to share.
