Hey guys,
do you think it is likely that you get an almost complete response on keytruda, just some minor focal activity in sub q met and total disolvment od lung mets and pet/ct that showed no new mets…in just 3 months! And after only a month a potential new met? Can keytruda work so wonderfully on old mets but still a new one can appear in such a short period of time?
i know everything goes with this beast, but can't really understand that you can have a complete response on one hand, and some new stuff on the other…
all in a month?
My fathers next pet/ct is in august, but i can't wait that long to know… What scared me was a marker which in higher than normal (s100)…
it could be nothing, but i'm worried…
another q, if something new poped up, does that mean that keytruda failed? Cause it didn't, it worked wonders since Jan this year…
thank you…
Patrisa

Hey Patrisa,
Yes, this is very possible. I've been on Keytruda for 20 infusions. In the beginning I saw all my sub-qs melt only to have other new ones pop up. Eventually these melted, too. Now I've got the remnants of one left, but we think it's just dead tissue as it's not changed in quite awhile.
I don't know how it will be with your father, but Keytruda's been a winner for me, though it took time, and at one point seemed like it wasn't working.
Hang in there!

Hi, Patrisa –
I don't know about keytruda, but this happened to me on Opdivo. The 2 original tumors that made me stage 4 completely disappeared in 3 months, but a new tumor appeared near one of my 2 primary sites.
We added Yervoy at my last infusion. (There is a reason I wasn't on both to begin with, but I wll spare you those complicated details). My next scan isn't until August…
Good luck to you and your father.
