Cinders,
It would probably help if you would let us know some of your pathology results and a decription of the vaccine trail Dr. Slingluff is running. That would help some of our smarter folks comment. Even without knowing those things right now I personally would be leaning toward a vaccine trial. My opinion may be biased because I did do interferon for a year and later progressed.
I will also say that UVA and Dr. Slingluff are outstanding researchers and caregivers.

You have choices – personally, I would not pursue interferon as the minimal benefits do not warrant the severe side effects (in my opinion). I think there are better options out there depending on your stage. I am stage 3 and am choosing watch and wait for now. There seem to be several better treatments recently that may be worth considering.

I chose the Month long interferon tx and am now on the shots for 11 months. The first shot I had site effects but none after that, except for some fatigue. I am working full time. This is just my experience, I wanted to do whatever I could. I am diagnosed 3C. Go with your heart and gut with what is best for you. -
