Feeling some scanxiety going on. My husband had his scans on Thursday 2/20/14. We have always waited

a few days figuring if we HAVEN"T heard anything buy now that the scans were ok. We called this morning

and still haven't heard back. Just feeling restless need to vent. When you progressed did they call you right

    away?

In my case, when I progressed I received a phone call directly from my surgical oncologist. However, I would not say that the call took place right away – my timing is unique though because my scans took place a few days before Christmas… my call came on Jan 30. I would attribute that timing to holidays.

      Hey Jewel,

I would tend to think like you that if it was really bad news someone would call me sooner than later.  I've had unique circumstances with the logistics of some of my scans so it's hard for me to say whether I got called or I called them.  I will say however you should not feel like you are being a pest at all if you call again.  I personally think it is completely unsatisfactory to make someone wait for 6 days for scan results.  I'm not sure of your relationship with your Dr. but I would express that to them when you talk to them next.  Maybe next time they will be a little better at giving you the results in a more timely manner.  Good luck with your results.

        Thank you Brian & Kevin,

We just got the call that everything remains stable, music to our ears. When my husband was

diagnosed they made us feel that time was VERY limited. Feeling very humble. Stage 3c… 2 1/2 yrs NED!!

That's wonderful news Jewel! I usually find out the same day my husband has his scans. I always have them scheduled for first thing in the morning and my oncologist has a patient portal that has all of his information on the site or if it's not there I will call that day and she always calls us by the end of the day. I would never put up with waiting more than two days.

Glad to hear positive news!!! Always gets me…and I just grin! Especially if they made you feel time was limited…just can't imagine as I haven't been told that and yet the thoughts continually weigh on you.

Anyway I see my doc same day as scan 90% of the time. I had Pet Scan last week on Monday and had to wait until Wednesday…yes it's rough…you're much stronger than me…I'd be calling next day and stalking them if they didn't give me time table. My onc warned me she'd be out until Tues night and couldn't see me until Wed morning.

Wishing you and your husband nothing but the best!!!
