      You should see melanoma specialist.
The specialist should send you for CT scan. Before that you cannot know anything for sure.

Being tired all the time may be part of the stress. I belive you are stressed out. It may have anything to do with cancer.

Sorry you are here, at the beginning, learning all this stuff in this new world! It's filled with questions and fear.

Take a deep breath, you are okay today:) Get a good doctor. Start educating yourself. Ask questions here. Here you will hear actual experiences with diagnoses and treatment etc. The experience of people here can be invaluable!! My feeling is the dr sugar coats everything!! The awesome people here just give it straight. They have suffered and still find a way to be happy and help others!

Now find your calm and strength and start doing your homework:) You will figure it all out. Don't guess or play "what if". Get your doc and your scans and go from there.

      Prayers,

      kerri-mom of Jake

Hi Melissa – I can't say whether any particular aches/pains are early cancer, but I do know that with your recent diagnoses you've probably been really stressed and maybe you're starting to feel run down. I think its a kind of adrenal fatigue, where you are stressed for a long time and it really starts to wear you down. On top of that, with any melanoma diagnosis, you get really hyper vigilant to every twingr, cough, ach etc. just hanf in there til the dr appt and you have some anawers. Right now you are in limboland, which is the worst. Try to relax, enjoy things, live the moment. Easier said than done, I know.

Glad to hear you are getting a workup done.

What you're experiencing can certainly be stress-related, espcially if you were fine prior to your diagnosis. I would discuss the aches and pains with your doctor and then ask him/her how you can tell the difference between normal aches/pains and a cancer recurrence.

Stress could definitely play a role in some of the aches and pains you're experiencing. Something to keep in the back of your mind is that even with a melanoma diagnosis, your body will still go through its normal aches and pains. It's just that with a cancer diagnosis you become hypervigilant overnight. It's like after your house is broken into you become hypervigilant and hear every single little creak and groan and fear it's another robber. In the meantime, it's not a robber and it's just your house doing its normal settling.

Stress could also play a role in your sleep patterns, which can make you feel tired during the course of the day.

Don't be embarrassed to ask your doctor for some medication to help you cope with your diagnosis and help you sleep. It doesn't have to be long-term.

My question to you is this:  If you had experienced these aches and pains PRIOR to your diagnosis, would you have gone to a doctor for them?  If not, then they probably have nothing to do with melanoma.  The imagination can get quite creative after you have a diagnosis and trying to keep it in check is difficult.   Not saying ignore them or anything else, but just trying to give you some ideas to keep things in perspective.
