Hello brothers & sisters, hope you all are well & fighting the hell outta our common enemy. Today {Nov 22 2017} at 2pm i did my first infusion of Pembrolizumab, 165.5 mg & the other stuff to wash it down haha, like a shot a Whisky with a Beer Back! i am now officially inducted into MRF..Side effects? none really, i do feel buzzed like i did do a shot a whisky but, i dont drink or do drugs anymore {by the grace of God} so, Pembro gave me "freebi" i guess. I feel a bit run down, and that just could be me being drained from the whole "build-up" up untill it was over. All i feel is drained. During infusion, i felt my chest burn about half way through the bag so, my tumors are in both lungs, maybe that was the first time Pembro met my damn tumors? lol..like a street fight, a rumble, ya know? lol..Will see as the weeks go by, im startin to think it will be just fine, "toxicity" would have already happened right? im possitive though, we all have to be…thanks again to all of you & look forward to reading & answering alot of you here MRF…Happy ThanksGivin' to all who celibrate it, i sure do…Mike..

Mike!
Welcome to the fight and the "Pembro Club". I'm glad to hear you tolerated the first round well and no adverse injection reaction, that gets you to round 2 brother.
I wish it gave me the "high" feeling 🙂 Instead, as you know, I get a few days of flu symptoms instead. Pretty sure I got the short end of the stick on that one!
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

Hope you continued to feel well enough to enjoy Thanksgiving! With my husband, Keytruda side effects don't really hit him until the following morning. — Carol

Hi Carol!, sorry for not gettin on MRF lately to see yer post!, Thankgivin went smooth my infusion was the 22nd {Nov} and i havnt had much side effects except a day or two there with low energy & the other day with soar throat glands {Thyroid i presume?} and check this out! i have alotta "tattoo's" alotta old ones lets say 18yrs +, but, i have "2" fairly newer ones from the last 8 years that are having a reaction to the Pembro! great example, its like "Brail! yep, if ya feel on em' their raised, lil bumps through out the whole tattoo! lol..i think, "Pembro thinks", these tattoos are the enemy & they got to go! now why its pickin on my newer tats i have no idea, maybe because its still fresh "techniclly?" its a trip…other then all this im good, im hearing 2nd, 3rd, 4th Dose may be a whole other story but, im faithfull & strong! bring it!…thanks for writing me Carol, hope yer hubby is continuing a positive treatment! Keytruda rocks!

Just finished my 26th dose of Keytruda. 4 hr. drive home finds me sleeping half way. Day after fatigue for me is always the worst. Usually take it easy but after that I feel pretty good. Not sure what I am supposed to feel like since I've been on this wonder drug since March 2016 but hope to find out in 3 weeks. Hang in there and let your body tell you what you can and cannot do. You'll figure it out. Good luck and best wishes, Beans

Beans! gosh darn! 26th dose?!! way to go! if i to need a year on it so be it, im a "newbie" still having only "1" bag of the Wonder Drug {i like that} in me so far, my next is Dec 13th. Like i just told Carol, very minumal aches, my throat glands where soar the other day & that went away, my only "weird" thing is, Pembro has "raised" two of my tattoos! like "Brail! if you where to rub yer fingers across them, youde feel lil bumbs, these are my two newest tattoos {maybe 8, 9 years old at most all other tats are very old & their unaffected!}..very strange & i believe Pembro thinks its the Enemy!..im listening to my body, im new to the journey & i stay focused, eat well, drink alotta water, Gatorade & keep my mind occupied doing my woodworking…I hope you continue to feel well & lets get those test/scans in for ya and see the results! NED! NED!..Take care frejoles :}
