Anyone here with mets (IIIC – IV) get long term success with surgery alone?

Yup!  But with radiation for brain mets and spinal mets.  Surgery is a good way to go when possible.

I've been now been NED almost 5 years after surgeries to remove mets from brain, both lungs and small intestine.  The brain met was followed up with GammaKnife.  I was in a vaccine trial at UVA but the small intestin met was subsequent to that.

I have a mate who had SNLB and then axillae lymphadectomy almost 20 years ago. He went to two follow ups with his doctors and thought to hell with it and never went back.

Back in those days, the operation took 13 hours. He said he decided what will be will be.

He's a doctor by the way.

After my wow expression ๐Ÿ™‚ I must say that sometimes compertalizing works! Living your life as it is, making projects. I am not encouraging denial as a way to facing life, though learning to put some things aside helps to feel life lighter.

I am impressed with the responses. It brings hope in a very realistic way.
