Hey Mike, I had a thoracotomy in April to remove melanoma from between my lung and heart. Surgeon went in from my back, separated ribs and muscles which is what I assume they will do for you. The chest tube was out after 1 day, they D/C’d me from hospital after 2 days, I stayed in nearby hotel for 1 week then flew home. I won’t lie, it hurt for several weeks but knowing the cancer was REMOVED kept me going! Its been 5 months, still on Opdivo, no recurrence. Keep us posted and goid luck!

Mike – spelled similarly to Nike – which means just do it, right?

On a more serious note, do you have concerns about whether it’s the right move, or is it not wanting to go through unwanted, scary surgery? And you don’t have to answer that.
