Mike, I don’t know that these threads are regularly read? So suggestion: folks contact the Foundation to report spam, copy the URL to threads about it. The contact form is under “About Us,” far right near the top of the page.
I’m surprised no one from the Foundation has even posted here in response to the many threads and concerns about the massive amounts of spam lately.
The people on this forum save lives. Really. The forum helps with decision making. It reassures. I’d hope making the forum more secure would be a priority, even if upgrades aren’t planned any time soon – like getting notifications if someone responses to thread would be nice!

They know about the spam and they are trying to work on it. Software changes don't happen overnight. Give them a chance!

Anonymous, known problem areas can be blocked (that would not have people who would be seeking legit info). This started happening occasionally months ago (not counting years ago; everyone in the field knew it would get worse over time, not better). 19 pages of spam in a row doesn’t have to happen on today’s average bulletin board. But that’s just my take, Anonymous. YMMV.

While spam is irritating, it hardly ranks in my top 100 list of things to get my undies in a bundle over. Take a deep breath, have a cup of coffee, watch the sunrise, read the newspaper, tell your family you love them while you wait for the admin to clear it up. Have a great day!

“Anonymous,” agree that sprinkled here and there spam is a mild irritant. But I’d think many people would agree that 19 and 15 pages of spam in a row – which was the case two recent days – can deter new members who are desperate for help from posting, as well as stopping current forum members from posting. Other than a few loonies like me, how many are willing to click through 15, 19, 7 pages in hopes there are legit posts?
There are no panties in a twist because of wanting perfection, “Anonymous,” it’s when the board is being hijacked by spam. And this isn’t a recent issue – it’s popped up before.
