I underwent treatment for SRS, and although I did not then have any detectable cancer, opted for ipi/nivo, of which my body was only able to comfortably tolerate a single infusion. </p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tim, my melanoma specialist at Mayo Jax told me (and showed me through stats) a lack of correlation between the number of doses given and overall survival and progression free survival. For this reason, I have only had one infusion of ipi/nivo! Because I immediately had side effects. I have just reached the one year mark of NED as a Stage 4 person.</p>

<p>However, blood work shows a high TSH (7.8), though my other thyroid tests (such as T4) are normal. Since my one dose of ipi/nivo, I&#8217;ve lost adrenal function/ability to create cortisol and am on a permanent maintenance dose of hydrocortisone to replace it. I had terrible migraines and that is how they discovered my brain mets. But I didn’t have them in the morning. And they were accompanied by auras. And I had no vomiting. Lucas, I have also heard that hydrocortisone is better as maintenance replacement for cortisol than is Prednisone. I&#8217;ve alternately been on Dexamethasone, Prednisone, and now Hydrocortisone in the past year (starting in June 2021 with the occurrence of brain mets). I am on Hydrocortisone as a maintenance steroid as my adrenals do not produce adequate cortisol. I take a 20 mg dosage, divided between 15 mg in the morning and 5 mg at lunch time. I had 3, 1 very small, 1 medium sized, and 1 almost too big for the doctor to radiate. He did SRS back in July, and they&#8217;ve not recurred. And just had an MRI and it was all clear!
