Mine was called a Terminal Illness Rider and I discovered it quite by accident while reading over my life insurance policy.  I applied and received half the face amount of the policy.  Everyone at the company –AIG–that I talked with was wonderful.  I was kind of hoping my oncologist would accuse me of jumping the gun when she had to fill out her portion BUT she didn't.  Sigh. So now we've paid off the house and my car.  A couple less things my husband will have to deal with when I "go" (assuming he'll be a basket case).  It's certainly worth checking into!

Amy and Kylez….thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so grateful to you both for your responses.  My head is swimming with the information I've learned today.  I just finished watching the webinar you suggested and will watch it again before my appointment on Wednesday.  Unless those doctors come up with something pretty compelling I've decided the whole brain radiation is not even an option.

Go to ACOR.org and choose pancreatic cancer.  It's a forum (listserve) with a lot of useful (tho heartbreaking like this one) info.  I've been a member since 1999 when my oldest son was diagnosed at the age of 36.  He almost made it to his 38th birthday. Ann
