        Results to Pet Scan came back melanoma.  I have it in lymphnodes in left neck, 4 inch in diameter mass on my left lung, 10mm mass behind my liver and a lesion on 5 rib on right side and lesion on right hip.  Doctor says this is spreading very fast and completed a BRAF Mutation test on biopsy and it came back I am BRAF and wil be going back to Doctor to get treatment set up.  Very scared but yes keeping my chin up.

              I had 28 Lymphnodes removed August 2010 and have never had a problem since.  Although I believe my armpit will forever be numb that that I can live with.

                    I wanted to comment about the Lymphnode removal.  I had 28 lymphnodes removed from my right armpit and this was August 2011 and I have had absolutly no problems at all.  I do have my compression sleeve and glove but have never had to use them.  The only lasting effect I experience is my entire shoulder and armpit and shoulder blade have been numb every since which I have gotten used to.  I am sorry you have to go through this especially while pregnant.  It helped me in the beginning to read of others experiences and to know I was not alone.  Best of luck to you and knowledge is the key.

                          I am so sorry to hear that is happening to the person you love.  Melanoma is a beast that attacks in so many different ways.  Never lose hope as there are many success stories on here and many new drugs that are used to fight this beast and new drugs come along as well…

                                The heart surgeon stated a needle biopsy was no possible because of the location of the lesion.  There are to many main arteries there by the heart.  The doctor is going to go through my left side and remove as much of the rib as he feels he needs to remove.  The incision will be aprox 2 inches long.  He said it will be painful and to be prepared.  I am very nervous.  I am being seen at the Melanoma clinic at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids Michigan.  They are awesome and very little waiting.  They are on it and I feel very comfortable that I will get the best of care.  I do recommend this place to anyone around that area…
