Bio

Don (patient) and I met in high school. We’ve been together 46 years, married for 38 of those. We’re just turning 63, and we spent our first winter in FL last year. I have retired from accounting/finance, and Don plans to work another 2 years because he has lots of flexibility and can work from our home in Sutton, MA or our home in Deerfield Beach, FL.

I survived Hodgkins Lymphoma 12 years ago. Ten years ago, our 16-year old daughter developed a brain tumor and it was Lymphoma of the Central Nervous System. Her year-long treatments were the hardest thing we ever went through, and Don was at her side constantly. We just celebrated her ten-year cancer-free anniversary!

We thought Don had a ruptured disk, but it turned out to be a tumor. Further tests revealed more tumors along his spine, two masses in his pelvis, one on his adrenal gland, one in his brain, another at the base of his neck. Stage IV Melanoma with no clue as to where it came from.

We are both determined to grow old together, just like we planned. The information and support on this website has already helped me to deal with this diagnosis and dig my heels in to conquer this beast.
