I was diagnosed stage 1b in the beginning of July. My mole was .46mm, Clarks level 3, no ulceration and a mitotic rate of 1. My oncologist just recommended the Wle but when I seen the plastic surgeon he basically said he wasn't giving me a choice on the snlb. He said it would give me and him peace. He didn't feel right just sending me off. I just had it done a week ago. The most painful thing was when they injected the dye. I got my results today and they were clear. I don't regret that he made me do it even though it was clear and I didn't need it. Now I can relax and not have to worry about the what-ifs.

I was just diagnosed at the beginning of July. Mine was .43 and Clarks level 3 with no ulceration. They just did my wife excision and lymph node biopsy a week ago. My nodes weren't swollen at all but I have been feeling kinda blah: I was relieved to find out they took 6 and they were all clean. My staging is 1b. Everyone's advice to me was to not panic until there is something to panic about. I know it's so hard as it was hard for me but I found things to keep me busy until this was all over.

I just had my first biopsy less then two weeks ago. They took my entire mole during my biopsy but since they found melanoma they will be taking more: if yours comes back clear I wouldn't worry about it to much. If it is melanoma they will do a wider incision and get the rest. Best of luck.
