      Hi,

I am a mom of a 1 year old and a 2.5 year old. I have stage 4. I am scared out of my mind. I had a mole 7 years ago that was stage 2a. Catching your mole in situ is so so so so good! The outlook is really amazing if you get it early. I know it's still scary though. It takes time to get over the initial shock and fear. Slowly it will fade though and you will be back to business as usual enjoying your family. YOU CAN DO THIS!! Be good to yourself and get a lot of hugs. You are going to grow very old and melanoma will be distant memory. YOU CAN DO THIS!!  It's okay to be scared and brave at the same time. Just remember catching melanoma early is the name of the game. Keep up those mole checks and cut it out if in doubt. YOU GOT THIS!!

Thanks so so so much for your help!!

I don't know. I was just told at Memorial Sloan Kettering that I would have "scans" at six weeks. I ended up getting treatment at NYU. I know why they don't scan st 6 weeks (because it doesn't change course of treatment), but curious why MSK would have.

Thanks so much for sharing these stories guys! I have a low grade fever now, laying in bed and feeling rotten. The fever experiences help so much.

ipi+nivo from NYU and Penn…the doctor at MSK initially said start with PD1 and then I can always add ipi later. At the time it sounded interesting, but after seeking the tiebraker reco at Penn it sounded like ipi+nivo is clear gold standard right now and would only recommend starting with a PD1 only if I was very old or wouldn't tolerate side effects well.

The main thing that is stressing me out is the politics of MSK and if they will let me switch from my doctor to the more senior doctor who is involved with my case and how I can do that and how quickly. I hear they are strict and just say no to switching between doctors on the same team. I have to have this conversation with them tomorrow and it's causing me a serious amount of anxiety. Help!
