Has anyone had Zelboraf and Zelboraf at the same time? I completed Yervoy last spring and have ben on Zel for 7 months now. Onc wants to keep me on Zel and add Yervoy. I am considered a partial responder to both Any info or experience would be appreciated\Thanks

As I recall, there was a clinical trial last year to test the combination of Zel with ipi. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they stopped the trial early because too many people were developing serious liver toxicity and/or severe skin reactions. The last I heard, the recommendation was that the patient be off Zelboraf for at least 3 weeks before starting ipi. At this point, combining Zelboraf and Yervoy would be an off-label use– a doctor could do it, but perhaps he/she shouldn't. Please research this carefully before proceeding.

Frank – check my profile for my experience. I was told 2 wks usually between starting one and finishing the other. I had 3 days. i had liver toxicity, spleen was enlarged, and rapid tumor growth. ALP was 697 ( high end of normal is 110) at one point. Proud to say though, finished Ipi on time, liver normal, nothing new and existing mets shrinking today. Back on Zel since Ipi dose 3.Good luck!
