Yervoy

My father started yervoy 2 wks ago and is very unfomfortable.  Nauseous, off balance, not sleeping, not eating.  He's supposed to go back in a week for another infusion.  Is there any medication that could help relieve some of his symptoms in the meantime? He is stage 4, mets to brain and kidney and who knows where else now.  It's so hard to see him so miserable.

Try to get him switched to Keytruda (pd1)  less side effects and works better than IPI.

Also when did he have his last head mri? Might be something going on there that needs more immediate attention like gamma knife. If that is so he can continue on Yervoy or pd1 while getting the radiation. May not be easy but I did it through a lot of radiation.

He just had one a few wks ago when they realized it spread to brain and they then took him off of the PD-1 Study that he started in Feb.  His team thought it best not to do gamma just yet.  I'm getting the info 2nd hand so I'm sorry I don't have more information.

                    Thank you for your input.

Kind of hard to say if it is the brain mets or one dose of yervoy. I went through all 4 doses of yervoy with almost no side affects. But some people I've read at one dose have had issues. I've had as many as 3 in my head but now down to 1 but they press on and displace my brain so that's different than being inside the brain.

The other person is right if it is the yervoy then hopefully they switch him to pd1 a sap. It has way less side affects.

For the nausea I've had with other meds I just took my moms home remedy of a warm cup of jello powder. Sound silly but it seems to gently expand in my stomach making it feel better. For diahrrea immodium seems to work the best for me and others according to the nurse. Not eatting or sleeping I'm not sure.
