I think we should take a moment to reflect on what we are thankful for this holiday season. I must say it's been a pretty eventful year for me. I was first diagnosed in March and it has been a whirlwind of surgeries and doctors appointments ever since.

I gotta say, I am pretty thankful for my parents. They have been there every step of the way. My boyfriend took very good care of me while I recovered from surgeries. My kids who give me lots of kisses and love. I am thankful to still be in good health and to have a warm roof over my head. To be able to enjoy good meals with my family and to have a pile of presents under the tree for my 2 kids.

I am thankful to have found a good doctor and healthcare team who really listen to my concerns and genuinely seem to care, and who are also very knowledgeable in my condition and give me straight answers.

With all the fear and uncertainties that surround us all, I think there is still a lot to be thankful for. What are you thankful for?

I am thankful just to be alive after 1.5 years of treatment. I hope to take advantage of life in 2017 as my treatment spins down.
